Dr. Messina grew up in Southern California where he completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees. He is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in Texas (#36673) and California (PSY 23684) and a national Doctoral-level Board Certified Behavior Analyst (1-09-6553). He holds an Affiliate Faculty member rank of Assistant Professor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth in the Department of Medical Education in the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.
He has provided psychological testing, evaluation, and treatment to children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of psychiatric and developmental disorders in both private and community settings for over 13 years. He specializes in evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to treat a variety of problems, like adult and child Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other child behavior and emotional problems. He has given numerous presentations on mental health topics, has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in Applied Behavior Analysis and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and has served as a guest lecturer at several Universities. He currently practices in Southlake, Texas.
