Abby Hawkins, LPC, LCDC, and NCC is a licensed professional counselor (LPC), licensed chemical dependency counselor (LCDC) and a National Board-Certified Counselor (NCC) who utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to treat emotional and behavioral problems in children, adolescents, and adults at Dr. Messina & Associates, in Southlake, Texas.

Abby specializes in treating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, substance use, and grief. She has worked with clients on issues related to health, children, family loss, mood, relationships, conflict resolution, emotional regulation, life changes, body image, separation, and divorce.

Abby holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health from Tarleton State University. Abby has continued her advanced training by becoming certified as a Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapist, Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional, and as a Grief Counseling Specialist.

Since 2015, Abby has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in university, inpatient medical and psychiatric settings, substance abuse treatment facilities, and in outpatient settings. Abby is the Chair Alumni and Advisory board member for the Tarleton State University Counseling Program.

Abby enjoys family activities, spending time traveling, playing the violin and equestrian events.
