About Dr. Gaddis

Justin Gaddis, PhD, is a Licensed Psychologist, as well as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP). He provides psychological assessment and therapy for children, adolescents, and adults at Dr. Messina & Associates in Southlake, TX.

Dr. Gaddis’ areas of expertise include neuropsychological assessment, autism, anxiety, depressive disorders, trauma, and youth exhibiting significant aggression and oppositional behaviors. Additionally, Dr. Gaddis received specialized training in treating obsessive-compulsive disorder and anxiety-related disorders at the University of Florida’s Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (UFOCD) Program at UF Health Shands Hospital, the leading clinical and treatment program in the Southeastern United States.

Dr. Gaddis completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Kentucky and his graduate coursework at the University of Florida. At the University of Florida, he was awarded the Norman F. Nelson Fellowship, the Fien Dissertation Award, the College of Education Alumni Endowment Scholarship, the OER Travel Award, the SESPECS Research Travel Award, and the Phi Delta Theta Graduate Academic Scholarship. In addition to serving as a research assistant and teaching undergraduate courses, Dr. Gaddis worked at the university within the Departments of Pediatric Endocrinology, Psychiatry, Psychology, and Human Growth and Organizational Studies.

Dr. Gaddis previously served as the Executive Director of Health Services & Well-Being for Fort Worth ISD. Prior, during his tenure as the Director of Psychological Services at Fort Worth ISD, the department won multiple awards from the Texas Association of School Psychologists (TASP), including Outstanding Delivery of Psychological Services. Dr. Gaddis completed his APA/APPIC internship in professional psychology working with youth with significant trauma at the Sarah A. Reed Children’s Center in Erie, PA.

Dr. Gaddis has authored peer-reviewed research publications, presented and served as a conference panelist at the national level, and has experience working on multiple multi-million-dollar research projects and grants.

Outside of the office, Dr. Gaddis enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid trail runner.
